Digitalisation & Data Protection
As the world becomes more digitalise, we see that any individual can eventually be summed up into a set of data. These data represents who we are in the digital world. Many would not see these data as personal assets in the past. Those were the years when companies easily collected our personal data and use them to their benefits.
As netizens become more conscious of their data being used, it gives rise to the need of privacy protection of these data, which in fact, belongs to the individual. We are believers that such data need to be respected and protected from individual’s point of view. At the same time, we understand businesses need such data to work in this digital world. Therefore we think personal data protection act can help both parties to know what are the boundaries to make sure businesses are carried out in a safe environment for individuals.
Covering the Gap
There are more than 200,000 SMEs in Singapore. Most of them are not expose to the right knowledge of PDPA. We hope to cover 20,000 SMEs and equip them the right knowledge of Singapore data protection law.
As the market becomes more digitalise, we think PDPA is more relevant than ever. We hope SMEs will know how to protect their clients’ data as well as themselves from breaching any provision of PDPA.
